A hidden gem in Chestnut Hill On New Year's Eve, I coordinated a wedding at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. Prior to this event, I'd heard of the Cricket Club, but hadn't had the opportunity to tour. Earlier in December, I visited the venue for the first time for a walkthrough with our NYE couple. I was blown away. As many locals know, Philadelphia is laden with a rich history, and the Philadelphia Cricket Club is a part of that - dating back to 1854, it is one of the oldest country clubs in the nation. The club can host around 250 guests, but also offers more intimate spaces for smaller events. When not hosting guests, (a very rare occasion), the club functions as a haven for its members who find solace in golf, squash, tennis, swimming, trapshooting, and of course, cricket. Stepping inside the club you gather its 'old-world' feel, but with all of the modern amenities. With plenty of space for on-site preparation, ceremony and reception, you really can use the venue for your whole day (including pictures!). On-Site Ceremony?: Yes! Couple's have a few options for where they'd like to host their ceremony. Catering?: Yes, the venue has an in-house kitchen and culinary team. Parking?: Parking lot with optional valet services. Available Spaces?: Too many to list...! Depending on the event, you could use the ballroom with adjacent rooms for cocktails or smaller dining rooms or board/conference spaces. Event Types?: This venue can really host it all from intimate gatherings to grandiose weddings. Getting Ready On-Site?: There is plenty of space for your bridal party to prep before the ceremony with spacious restrooms for both ladies and gents. Vibe: Nautical Elegance. Though the venue is located in Philadelphia, you can't help but to feel like you've been relocated to a sprawling New England estate. Perks: The seclusion and elegance of Chestnut Hill with the convenience of Philadelphia attractions and hotels being just a hop, skip and a jump away.
