Pecan Cinnamon Rolls | Alexandria Catherine Events

It might have been in the 80's and 90's this past week, but I've been all about Fall over here! I don't know about you all, but for me a huge part of the season is FOOD. Yes, I'm one of those pumpkin-everything girls. No shame!

I am a huge pecan lover and so I decided to put together an easy treat that your guests will be fighting over ... Pecan Cinnamon Rolls. Now, if you're a skilled baker you can definitely make these from scratch and I'm sure they'll be even better; however, if you're often crunched for time like I am, I'm going to let you in on a secret: The cinnamon rolls were frozen and I just made the sauce. 

I know, it's a huge cheat but it's also an easy way to feed a crowd a seasonal favorite if they stop by without much notice. 

INGREDIENTS:

• One package frozen/refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
• 1 tablespoon cinnamon
• 1/3 c brown sugar
• 4 tablespoons butter
• 1/2 c chopped pecans 
• Vanilla icing (or whatever seasonal favorite strikes your fancy)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. You're going to follow the instructions for your refrigerated dough; however, tuck some pecans into the folds of the cinnamon rolls before putting them into the oven.
2. While those bake, let's work on the topping. Put the brown sugar and butter in a saucepan and heat until the sugar is melted. Mix well and add the remaining pecans. Keep warm, but not over heat. 
3. When the dough comes out of the oven, transfer to a large serving platter and spoon a dollop of the icing onto the top of each cinnamon roll and then pour your pecan topping over them. 
4. Ta-da! As soon as they smell this wafting from the kitchen, they'll come running!
