Now that you and your fiancé have an idea of your design preferences, it's time to discuss the overall vision of how the wedding day will go.
We're talking about flow of the day. Homework: Have a conversation about weddings that you have attended in the past and the pros and cons of each for you. Maybe you loved that there was a live band, but would personally feel a little uncomfortable doing a garter toss? Make a list of likes and dislikes that apply to you as a couple that you would or would not want to play a part in your big day. It is also important to consider the elements that are a priority to the two of you. Are you big dancers and want your guests on the dance floor with you? A great DJ or band might be something for you to focus on when you do get started with more of your planning, and it might be an area that you're willing to spend a little extra to have (this will come in handy when you start talking about your budget). The next step here is to also discuss how you envision the day going. Are you considering something more traditional (ceremony, receiving line, pictures, etc.) or are you hoping to do a First Look beforehand so that you can get to Cocktail Hour? You don't need to have a timeline in place, but it's good to have an understanding of what you want the day to look like.
