Congratulations! I know that wedding planning seems like a daunting task, and if you overwhelm yourself with too much at once, it can be. Your engagement should be one of the most enjoyable and memorable times of your life, and planning for the wedding shouldn't be a negative experience. 

Establish a Vision

You may already have boards upon boards of Pinterest wedding-inspiration, but you need to sit down with your fiancé and see if you can pick out bits and pieces that appeal to both of you.

Homework: Make a Pinterest board together or look through magazines to create an idea of your collective vision.

This is not about details... yet. Just take the time to see what design vibe you each gravitate towards (rustic, chic, elegant, etc.). Just work on getting on the same page for an overall theme or concept. 

Why are we starting here? When you really get into the start of your planning, selecting a venue is going to be one of the first things you'll do, and you can't do that unless you have an idea of what you're looking for. If you go into the venue selection process blindly, it could get frustrating because if one of you really likes barns and the other ballrooms you'll be stuck with too broad of a list to choose from.
